In the historic Barrio community of Carlsbad Village, a public glassblowing studio and retail gallery has become a part of the California Coastal town's landscape. Barrio Glassworks allows the public to witness the art of glassblowing up close in its open viewing section.
The studio provides a hands-on glass experience, including Make Your Own classes and lessons, where people can learn about this mesmerizing art form.
Beautifully designed, handmade objects by glass artists from San Diego, Southern California, and beyond are featured in The Gallery at Barrio Glassworks. This gallery represents artists at all stages of their career, focusing on innovative contemporary work.
The idea for Barrio Glassworks began after the Raskin/Devlin family stumbled upon the famous glassblowing island of Murano, Italy, and fell in love with the form. This serendipitous accident sparked a family dream, which included teenager Drew Raskin, and led to the creation of their own glass studio.
Barrio Glassworks can be found at 3060 Roosevelt Street, Carlsbad, CA 92008, and contacted at 760.696.3288 or info@barrioglassworks.com.
